Community Service Group This day-time group of women gathers weekly on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the West Assembly Hall. The group was first formed in 1920. Members quilt, sew, knit and do crafts. Newcomers are welcome. Please bring your own lunch; tea and coffee are provided. Flora McCrea Group The Flora McCrea Group of the UCW currently has 52 members. Meetings take place on the second Tuesday of every month from September to June at noon in the Allan Beattie Room with our sandwiches. Sweets and tea/coffee are provided by our refreshment committee. The content of our meetings varies from the two popular potlucks in December and June, the fundraiser in May, a field trip and speakers of current interest. We make arrangements and serve at the annual Sacrificial Lunch. Receipts from our fundraiser (bridge and buffet) and annual dues are distributed to Presbytery, TEMC, our speakers and five charities. Visitors and new members are always welcome to participate. |
Sacrificial Luncheon This annual Holy Week event is a symbolic meal of hot cross buns and tea. A guest speaker and inspirational music allow reflection on the deeper meaning of Easter. The funds that would have been used for a full lunch go to the charity of the guest speaker’s choice. Contact The Rev. Dr. Jean Hunnisett, ext. 232. Women Together Women Together is a group of women of various backgrounds and ages – young mothers, grandmothers, homemakers and career women – with a common interest in working proactively on outreach and fundraising projects within and outside the church. The group meets infrequently to accomplish our goals of outreach, to support women’s shelters, youth and church projects. |
