Choir school

The TEMC Choir School under the leadership of Ms. Elaine Choi, Music Director at TEMC, offers a music program that is the perfect mix of faith, fun and musical education. From September to May, the choir program promises a musical adventure for children and their families. Children learn music and perform while having fun and making friends and have opportunities for community involvement and participate in church services. Our tutors have the experience and skills to bring the best out in every young talent.

As a parent quoted last year “Where else would you like your child to be?” Parents have provided feedback on how their children enjoy the program and show improvements in inner confidence, music skills and music appreciation.

Choristers may choose to join Choir Only or join Choir and take lessons in addition to Choir. We encourage all children to participate in the tutor program, a fortunate blessing of the Choir School to be supported by the Dr. Ouchterlony Trust Fund. Dr. Ouchterlony, a past Music Director at TEMC wanted to continue his vision after his departure in that the Choir School would continue to flourish as a nurturing institution instilling the love of music in children by teaching the foundations of singing, reading music and music theory.

There are two choirs that explore various style of worship music including classical, jazz, folk, gospel and contemporary worship songs repertoire. The Chorus is made of treble voices between the ages of 8 and 18 while The Voci Unite Choir is a performance oriented choir of mixed voices between 13 and 18 years of age for more experienced singers.
