Christian Development Opportunities at TEMC



Have questions about life, faith, and God? The Alpha Film Series is a great way to explore these topics. A 30-minute film presents the basic principles of the Christian faith, followed by a discussion where participants are free to share their own thoughts about the film’s topic. Refreshments are served.

Book Study - The Sunflower: On the Possibilities and Limits of Forgiveness by Simon Wiesenthal

Description: You are a prisoner in a concentration camp. A dying Nazi asks for your forgiveness. What would you do?
(After January 6th the book can be ordered online)
**Please read only Part 1 (“The Sunflower”) before the first meeting. Come prepared to discuss your own thoughts on the story before reading the commentaries of the others.

Handel’s “Messiah” Concert/Lecture Series

You know it as a great Christmas tradition, or for the Hallelujah Chorus sung on Easter Sunday, but there is so much more to Handel’s most well-known oratorio. During Lent, we will study Part 2 of Messiah, which focuses on the Passion of Christ. Each session will include an exploration of the theology Handel presents through the lyrics, and a demonstration of how he uses the music to highlight this theology.

When?  Sundays, March 17 and 24 - 2:00 PM -- Lecture/Recital format; Sunday, April 7 - 4:00 PM -- Full performance of Part 2; tickets $15 at the door

Hearing God Seminar

Have you ever wondered if God still speaks to people today, or if He has anything to say to you? Have you wondered how to tell the difference between God’s voice and your own thoughts? If so, then the Hearing God Seminar may be for you! We will explore these questions and more, to help you experience and connect with God at an even deeper level.
