Joanne Leatch

JOANNA LEATCH loves doing many different things and does many of them at TEMC. In our music program, she puts her A.R.C.T. in piano (teacher’s) and in singing (teacher’s and performer’s) to good use as one of the choir leads and as one of the tutors for the Choir School. She is happy to tutor students in piano, voice and theory. Her students always do well in exams at the Royal Conservatory of Music. She is also happy to prepare them for musical roles at their schools or elsewhere.

Joanne particularly loves singing oratorio, art songs and musical theatre. She has performed as an oratorio soloist in Germany and Austria as well as in various cities in Canada.

Joanne has played most of the alto roles in productions of the operettas of Gilbert and Sullivan and she studied art song with Mary Morrison at the Banff School of Fine Arts.

Joanne is also TEMC’s wedding co-ordinator and would be happy to hear from you if you have a wedding that you would like to hold here. The church’s venue is spectacular and we have done everything we can to make weddings as stress-free as possible.

In addition, Joanne is passionately committed to the church’s El Hogar Project in Honduras, and has been its volunteer leader for several years. You will see her around the church at El Hogar fundraising projects and providing information to anyone who is interested.

In her life away from TEMC Joanne is a lawyer, and the mother of twin sons, who are both in their last year of law school. She very much enjoys hanging out with her adult children, follows baseball and is owned by a Bichon Frise.
