The TEMC Choir School is pleased to offer high quality music education and musical support to choristers and their families. With weekly rehearsals and frequent performances in services, concerts, and competitions, the Choir School relies on many people to ensure that it runs smoothly. As such, positions are held by an executive committee and the church and choir school staff.
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE POSITIONS:
Members of the Executive Committee ensure that all programs, activities, and policies align with both the Choir School’s vision and TEMC’s governing policies. Members support the Director of Music, administer the David Ouchterlony Endowment Fund with a primary focus on providing music tutoring to member choristers, and work to engage all families of the Choir School in volunteerism.
CHURCH & CHOIR SCHOOL STAFF:
The Director of Music, Elaine Choi, is responsible for overall musical direction (i.e. repertoire selection for the main choir, liturgical scheduling, service commitments, rehearsal and accompanist facilitation, etc.), tutors, and tuition curricula. She liaises with the church’s Ministerial Team and Music/Worship Committee, receives and evaluates outside performance requests, and ensures alignment with the mission of the church.
The Assistant Conductor, Edmee Nataprawira, directs the Cherub Choir (i.e. repertoire selection for the Cherubs, rehearsal facilitation, occasional accompanist facilitation, etc.). She liaises with the Tutoring Staff and assists with the preparation and publishing of tutoring schedule, and she assists the Music Director with various administrative tasks, including concert logistics, report cards, church newsletter articles, etc.
The Choir School Accompanist, Adam Weinmann, collaborates on piano with the Director of Music and Assistant Conductor for rehearsals and performances with both the Main Choir and the Cherub Choir.
Conductor of TEMC Top to Bottom! Dan Ryan is new to our team year working with young male choristers going through voice change.
