Children JK - Gr. 8
THANK YOU, TEMC FAMILIES!
We would like to thank our TEMC families, for providing us the privilege to teach your children. We appreciate your faithful attendance every Sunday morning and your words of encouragement! The energy can be felt every Sunday morning with lively, happy and giggling children as they dance, sing and learn Scripture memory verses. This past term focused on New Testament stories including: The Great Commission, Jesus Heals Two Blind Men, Jesus Blesses the Children, Holy Week and the Holy Spirit. Your children have grown tremendously in their walk with Jesus and it has been an absolute joy to watch.
The children attend 9:15 AM Sunday service with their families and friends. After the “children’s story” finishes, the students of Sunday school move to the East Chapel, at approximately 10:00 AM and are dismissed at 10:25 AM.

Each Sunday starting in the Fall and ending in the Spring
Some Sunday school highlights included singing at Sunday service to celebrate Mother’s Day. During Lent, several of our children and families attended the Ash Wednesday XChange Service, a meaningful time of worship in a casual atmosphere with children and parents together. Let us not forget the Valentine’s Day celebration with the theme of God’s Love or Christmas lessons, crafts and a Happy Birthday Jesus Party. In the spring of 2015, the curriculum focused on stories from the New Testament with lessons on:
- Jesus’ Baptism
- The Disciples
- The Lord’s Prayer
- Woman at the Well
- A Storm
SOCIAL TIME TOGETHER
Each term we have a social such as “Bowling Night” or the popular “Mock Sleepover” where the children come dressed in their PJ’s with sleeping bags in tow and enjoy pizza, popcorn and other goodies as they watch a movie and enjoy their time together.
Confirmands (Gr.8 and up) are expected to be a part of the Youth Sunday School program and receive extra instruction through additional classes and a retreat in the spring. Read more.
LOOKING FORWARD TO THE YEAR AHEAD
We look forward to an exciting year as we will learn about God’s unfailing love and come to know you, our students and families. Please feel free to drop into the East Chapel on Sunday mornings, starting this fall. I guarantee you will leave with a smile on your face and you might even be challenged to see who can say all the Books of the Old Testament the fastest.
