Youth & Young Adult

The more we give and receive in our faith community, the more our faith grows, the more relationships we build, and the more interconnected we become. When the storms and floods of life come, we have a community that supports us. This is what it means to live in community. It is our prayer that all may find their place in this faith community, find support from one another, that all may grow in the love of God, and that all may find joy.

The talent, commitment, tenacity and humanity of the youth contribute to make the Youth & Young Adult groups at TEMC possible. Activies such as Pancake Supper, Spirit Express, Sunday School, Confirmation, or the Youth Niagara Trip take place throughout the year keeping the youthful spirit alive.

In the time spent side by side, serving pancakes, discussing faith or organizing events, we have strengthened our support for one another and seen friendships deepen. “I have seen people live more authentically, resolve conflict with one another, forgive one another, inspire one another and develop into better versions of themselves. I have seen people endeavour to treat one another with the love and compassion that Christ modelled for us and calls us to” says Katherine Selby.

Jean Vanier writes, “One of the marvelous things about community is that it enables us to welcome and help people in a way we couldn’t as individuals. When we pool our strength and share the work and responsibility, we can welcome many people, even those in deep distress, and perhaps help them find self-confidence and inner healing.”
