TEMC provides a wide variety of opportunities for you to get involved and serve. You can use your skills, time, talents and willingness to serve not only within the church but also in and around the community. There really is something for everyone.
Please see the following opportunities below to see where you can offer your time:
Interested in Becoming a Stephen Minister?
Our congregation at TEMC is in need of committed members to be Stephen Ministers, walking in Christian love and caring alongside someone in a time of trouble or distress. Our thriving Stephen Ministry has more people asking for Stephen Ministers than we have Stephen Ministers to assign to them. Please think and pray about taking part. Speak with The Rev. Dr. Jean Hunnisett about whether becoming a Stephen Minister is the right path for you. Read more.
Connect with the Children of Honduras
El Hogar de Amor y Esperanza, means “The Home of Love and Hope.” This home and school for orphaned and extremely poor Honduran children lives up to its name and more.
El Hogar encourages work teams to come and share in the lives of the staff and children. While physical labour is important, El Hogar stresses that the most important contribution of service teams is for them to forge relationships with the staff and children. TEMC is excited to send a multi-generational volunteer team every August. Read More.
Specially trained lay visitors call regularly on members and adherents with special needs, such as seniors who are homebound or in a care setting. Volunteers for this important program are always welcome.
Be the First Point of Contact
Our ministry of hospitality, supported by two rotating teams of church members, is the first contact that many people have with our Church. The Ushers/Greeters Program looks for reliable, conscientious, energetic, caring and dedicated people to serve. This is one of our largest volunteer organizations, offering many opportunities for leadership, service and hospitality. Read more.
