INTERFAITH TEAM
Mission: We are a team of interfaith champions who stand with our friends and neighbours in other faiths. In particular, we believe Christians have a vital role to play in building bridges within the Abrahamic faith traditions and in being alert and allied against the growing antisemitism and racism in our communities. TEMC has a long tradition of interfaith work, and we will continue to raise awareness in our congregation, support our friends in neighbouring synagogues, and expand our outreach to others who share our inclusive and compassionate interfaith vision.
Ways to serve: Build relationships in other faith communities, share resources, initiate grass roots interfaith collaboration opportunities.
Ideal for those who: Care deeply about the well-being of neighbours and friends in other faiths, and who are curious to learn more about what they can do to combat antisemitism and racism.

WELCOME/USHERING TEAM
Mission: To serve and demonstrate God’s commission to us, to prayerfully promote an atmosphere where all those entering the church will feel welcome, to meet the needs of the congregation during the Service, and attempt to keep distractions to a minimum. Ushers stand ready to assist anyone in the congregation who might need help, to aid people in finding a seat, and to inform the clergy in the sanctuary of any urgent matters.
Ways to Serve: Ushers oversee all the responsibilities of welcoming, ushering and offering collection, on a rotating basis, for all Sunday Worship Services throughout the year, including the summer months of July and August. They act as doorkeepers, greeting each person with a smile, shaking hands, and handing out The Order of Service bulletins. They usher the congregation to their seats, especially those requiring assistance. They are also available to answer visitors’ questions. When there is a Communion Service, the ushers may be asked to help with additional duties. On some occasions, ushers may be asked to assist at funerals, which are often conducted during the weekdays. Ushers may be asked to be at any Special Service that the Church conducts.
Ideal for Those Who: The usher serves as a “first representative” of Jesus Christ for a Worship Service. It is recommended that ushers be outgoing, friendly, have excellent customer service skills, and able to handle responsibility with little supervision. Ideally, the ushers should be a balanced group of church members, representing all age groups and genders in the church. Characteristics of a good usher are friendliness, punctuality, humility, graciousness, kindness, dedicated and most of all prayerful.

MEMBERSHIP & INTEGRATION COMMITTEE
Mission: Membership and integration works to greet new people, reconnect with current members, get to know people's gifts, and offer them places to serve in our congregation.
Ways to Serve: Chatting with new and returning visitors to TEMC after a Sunday service. Being a warm connection between people eager to serve and the committees and programs that need their help. Not only attending TEMC events, but making sure our sisters and brothers are aware, included, invited and welcomed to participate too!
Ideal for Those Who: Enjoy getting to know people and helping them help others and for those who are enthusiastic about what TEMC has to offer. (or perhaps, this is the way to learn about all that TEMC has to offer!)
