Mending Team

Our team is doing their part to engage community and mend the world in one way or another. Take a look at what's going on:

Jason is jamming his summer travel into a one-month window in late spring and early summer. He’ll be in Turkey for a pilgrimage commemorating the seven ecumenical councils and the seven churches in Revelation through the end of May. Then he’ll preach and speak at a Chataqua in Lakeside, Ohio the first week of June and will teach at Northern Seminary outside Chicago the second week of June. He’ll be back to preach on Ascension Day, May 29, and on Pentecost Sunday, June 8.

After Easter, Dayle took two weeks away from TEMC to visit his family in England. While in London, he was a guest speaker at his mother church, the Chrisma Christian Centre, revisiting the first pulpit he’d ever preached in. Upon his return the following week, Dayle preached at St. Paul’s United Church in Brampton. For the next few Sundays, Dayle will be preaching here at TEMC while Jason represents us in Nicaea.

Post Easter, Joanne has been busy with a flurry of funerals and memorial services, which stretch into June. She is also conducting services at both Belmont House and Christie Gardens and working with potential volunteers who have expressed an interest in being lay visitors to our members who may not easily be able to get out. Joanne was excited to preach the Sunday after Easter and is looking forward to attending a weekend prayer retreat in early June.

Elaine remains actively engaged in music making while courageously navigating her journey as a full-time cancer warrior! Over the past 2 months, she has guest conducted three local high schools, two schools from Michigan (while on tour in Canada), adjudicated the TCDSB music festival, and interviewed by podcast Conduct(her). Most recently, on May 6, she led the 100 voice choir, Pax Christi Chorale in the world premiere of ‘We Are Phoenix’, a 45-minute multi-movement work by composer Timothy Takach.
